The Sala Demonstration Garden was inaugurated in June 2017, coinciding with the Viridalia event held that same year.
It is an essential part of Sala Graupera, created to experiment with, promote, and share the use of new species for Sustainable Gardening. This 2,000 m² space, located in
Sant Andreu de Llavaneres, is designed so that both our customers and professionals in the sector who wish to introduce this type of gardening can see the final
development of the plants we sell. It is also a space for inspiration. Likewise, it is frequently visited by agricultural schools, gardening students, and plant enthusiasts.
It is a no-irrigation garden — only an initial establishment watering was carried out during the first 12–14 weeks, and afterwards, only those species that at some point
during the year need support to enhance their appearance or flowering are watered.
The aim is to be a living garden, incorporating insect and bird nests, as well as a small watering area for amphibians, insects, and birds to have access to water, especially
during the hot summer months when they suffer most. At the same time, it allows us to experiment with new species of plants from Mediterranean climate zones around the world.
Currently, the garden contains over 300 species, and in 2025 it was renovated in collaboration with Vitex Jardineria, a non-profit and socially driven cooperative whose
goal is to promote gardening, landscaping, and landscape restoration practices that provide ecosystem services and are adapted to new climate conditions.
We invite you all to visit it often to observe the changes it undergoes throughout the different seasons of the year.
