This week we continue with the Speed Gardening Contest that took place in Olot during the APEVC Congress and of which in the previous post we showed you the winning garden . Thus, below we present the other three gardens that participated in the contest:

Franjas Vivas (Living Strips)

This garden was defined in a hybrid aesthetic, in which the vegetation and some of the materials intentionally presented a wild, unintervened appearance, but instead were settled on rectilinear traces that organized the space. These traces generated a structured grid, in the form of paths, through which vegetation ran, among which we can highlight the presence of some species such as [Pennisetum alopecuroides "Little Bunny"](http://www.salagraupera.com/es/cataleg/graminies/item/pennisetum-alopecuroides-little-bunny-2) or _Miscanthus sinensis_ "Yaku Jima" . This garden was created by the collective Espaisatge and it should also be noted the presence of a mirror, covered on its back by grass, which allowed to "enter", even if only metaphorically, inside the garden.

Desorden Constructivo (Constructive Disorder)

In this garden of classic appearance and exemplary execution, behind its sober aspect it claimed green spaces against the urban frenzy of recent decades. Carried out by two gardeners , in it the vegetation, which was not as abundant as in other proposals, but with the diversity of textures and colors, acquired an important presence. In this garden was a very interesting species, to which we will soon dedicate a post, the [Vitex trifolia purpurea](http://www.salagraupera.com/es/cataleg/general/item/vitex-trifolia-purpurea-2) which with the unique purple nuances of its leaves did not go unnoticed or the [Leucophyllum frutescens](http://www.salagraupera.com/es/cataleg/general/item/leucophyllum-frutescens-2), which although not in flower, its glaucous foliage stood out against the wood of the sleepers and the rest of the vegetation.

![Garden La Transformación recreando landscape of rotonda with Zoysia tenuifolia](/images/Bloc/Concurs_Jardins_APEVC_7.jpg)

La Transformación (The Transformation)

This garden dealt with the changes that roundabouts have generated in our daily environment and the evolution in the design of these elements in recent years. If anything characterizes this garden, created by gardening students from IES La Garrotxa , it is its vocation to be a faithful reproduction of this reality. But in it, during its construction, something transformed its scale and the view, thus going from being a roundabout scenario, to a representation of a road landscape on a larger scale. Where the ground cover [Zoysia tenuifolia](http://www.salagraupera.com/es/cataleg/graminies/item/zoysia-tenuifolia-2) could be perceived as a large shrub, so that the garden was transformed, gained depth and increased its complexity. Among the vegetation present in it, in addition to Zoysia, it is worth highlighting the [Salvia leucantha](http://www.salagraupera.com/es/cataleg/general/item/salvia-leucantha-2) which, at this point in autumn, still displayed its interesting purple and white flowers.

We hope you have found this initiative interesting, which has had the collaboration of Sala Graupera, and to enjoy a next edition again soon.
