It is a species belonging to hardiness zone 9, with an average minimum annual temperature range of -6.6 / -1.2°C, showing resistance to light frosts.
Pimelea ferruginea is a very drought-tolerant species. It only requires support watering during the 8-10 weeks after planting; once well rooted it requires no irrigation (except those planted in pots). We recommend that this watering be done by moistening the entire terrain in depth and allowing it to almost dry out before watering again.
It develops well in sandy and even rocky soils with good drainage. It does not tolerate waterlogging. It is a plant that adapts well to coastal gardens, being resistant to salinity and sea breeze.

It should be planted in full sun if you want spectacular flowering, but if we don't have this location it can also be planted in partial shade, obtaining poorer blooms.
The application of Pimelea ferruginea is interesting in rock gardens and groupings of shrubby, aromatic and perennial plants. Or as an isolated specimen in gardens with low water requirements and minimum maintenance. It is a species that tolerates being planted in containers very well to decorate terraces and balconies, giving a very compact bearing to the whole. We have therefore referred to a very recommended and versatile plant that we encourage you to try.
