In this second post about the genus Leptospermum, we will talk about the rest of the species of this genus that we have available in our nursery.

\*Leptospermum karo \*\*\'Pearl Star'\\* is a compact evergreen shrub, which when adult can measure 1.20 meters high by 80 centimeters wide.

Its leaves are evergreen, simple and small, of a light green color. And its pink flowering takes place from February to May. Its flower is small and has five petals.

It is a species belonging to hardiness zone number 8, with an average minimum annual temperature range of -12.2 / -6.7°C, which indicates that it is tolerant to the frosts of our climate.

Like the rest of Leptospermum, this one is tolerant to light drought, since its water needs are low. In long periods of drought it is advisable to water it (it requires post-implantation watering). It likes to be planted in full sun.

It requires soils with good drainage, to avoid fungus problems in the roots.

\*Leptospermum scoparium \*\*\'Kiwi'\ is the lowest Leptospermum\* that can be found at Sala Graupera. It is a compact shrubby plant that can measure 80 centimeters high by 80 wide. With very small and simple leaves, of a dark green color.

The flowering, very showy, occurs during the months of March to August; with flowers with five petals of red - pink color.

It is a species belonging to hardiness zone number 8, with an average minimum annual temperature range of -12.2 / -6.7°C.

It is a drought-tolerant plant and also tolerates light shade. But if we want to get better performance it is preferable to plant it in full sun; this way we will obtain very spectacular blooms.

Tolerant to all types of soils, as long as they drain well.

\*Leptospermum scoparium \*\*\'Red Damask'\\* is a compact evergreen shrub, which normally can measure 2 meters high by 1.50 meters wide.

Its leaves are small, longer than wide and simple, of dark green color. As for flowering, it is, however, one of the most beautiful Leptospermum there are, with a very showy red flowering. It flowers from March to June in our latitudes.

It is a species belonging to hardiness zone number 8, with an average minimum annual temperature range of -12.2 / -6.7°C.

It requires to be planted in full sun if we want to obtain this spectacularity of flowers. It is also drought tolerant, but if we water it slightly we will obtain better results in terms of flowering.

Tolerant to all types of soils, as long as they drain well.

\*Leptospermum scoparium \*\*\'White' \ is a shrub, which we have available at Sala Graupera, evergreen, compact, which can reach 2 meters high by 2 wide, being one of the leptospermum\* that grow the most.

Its simple and small leaves. They are dark green in color, and its white 5-petaled flowers are white in color.

It is a species belonging to hardiness zone number 8, with an average minimum annual temperature range of -12.2 / -6.7°C. which indicates that it is tolerant to Mediterranean climate frosts.

It is a species that requires sun to give us all its potential. Drought resistant like the rest of the species of this genus. And as far as the soil is concerned, it must be draining, whether clayey, sandy or loamy.

In short, of the large number of species that this genus has, at Sala Graupera we have a very good representation, being able to choose between very diverse flower colors. They are plants that we recommend using since they allow making mixtures of species of the same genus playing with the color of their flowers.
