An interesting alternative to seasonal plants

The other day I stopped by the Nursery to get plants for a new project. It is always very pleasant to visit the nursery, especially in late spring or early summer. In addition to being able to see "in situ" many of the species grown at Sala Graupera, you always find some new plant that, for one reason or another, surprises you.

When I was visiting the Nursery, I also coincided with a couple; they were not professionals, they had simply come to the nursery to look for plants for their garden. With this "image" of the individual customer, seasonal plants immediately came to mind, and while walking through the beds, my attention was drawn to a plant I had not noticed until now, the _Fuchsia_ "Electric Lights".

It is a dwarf Fuchsia cultivar that does not exceed 40/60 cm in height and reaches a diameter of also about 40/60 cm.

The main characteristic is that it is in bloom practically all year round, with the typical color that gives this genus its name and that will undoubtedly stand out among the other tonalities of the garden.

It is a resistant and easy-to-grow plant. It requires little care, light pruning to polish the rounded shape it already has on its own, as well as to remove dry flowers and sanitize the plant to promote the appearance of new flower buds.

A slow-release fertilizer applied in spring will favor intense flowering and good vegetative state.

It likes sun but accepts partial shade very well. It tolerates light frosts, down to -3°C, and prefers slightly acidic soils. In addition, it is a species that once established in the ground requires minimal water inputs.

So this fuchsia variety presents itself as a good alternative to the typical seasonal plants. In addition, it works perfectly as a plant for borders and is also suitable for growing in pots.

A highly recommended plant that we encourage you to try.
