Festival de Jardines de Allariz 2015

For five years, the Allariz International Garden Festival has been presenting visitors with new ideas about gardening and providing detailed information about the plant species used in each plot, which they can experiment with in their own gardens. Currently, it is a unique event in our country, located in an environment declared a Biosphere Reserve, receiving an average of 40,000 visits each year and can be visited until October 31st.

In this edition, the theme revolves around music and as we mentioned in the previous **post** , bamboo is the main protagonist. Several proposals use this species to create giant percussion instruments that allow visitors to interact or to accompany, with the sound of the reeds shaken by the wind, the journey through the installation.

Other unique elements are also exhibited, from plant staves to jingle bells that shake when passing through the gardens, which characterize these ephemeral spaces that once again compete for visitor votes.

Among the most interesting proposals of this edition, we highlight the one by the Collectif Les Jardiniers Nomades team, the one by Bcn Landscape, and the one by the Portuguese team formed by André Ribeiro and Tiago Castro.

The **Big Bamboom** project created by the French team, creates a garden fenced by bamboo cane bells and in the center of the space features giant xylophones ready to be played. The vegetation of this proposal is formed by three bamboo species that are the protagonists of this intervention.

The **Sinfonía Vegetal** proposal presented by the Barcelona team, uses a path enclosed by a permeable fence made of ropes and jingle bells in the form of a musical staff, which is activated when touched and allows visitors to experience music in a landscaped space. Wooden structures create arches under which the garden is traversed surrounded by various species among which we highlight **_Escallonia rubra_** .

From the third project **#Soundtree** , the plant associations of the flowerbeds with species such as [_Ophiopogon japonicus_](http://www.salagraupera.com/es/cataleg/general/item/ophiopogon-japonicus-5) or **_Stipa tenuissima_** that surround a central gray gravel flowerbed where large wind mobiles are located, which give character to this space, are interesting.
