Last days to visit the Milan Expo 2015 which, under the slogan "Feeding the planet, energy for life", will close its doors on October 31. It is a unique opportunity to attend conferences on the subject, admire the architecture and temporary gardens, and taste the different gastronomic specialties of each country.

Walking through the Rho fairgrounds, where the pavilions of various international organizations and the 140 participating countries are located, the visitor will be greeted by a landscape dominated by rice fields.

The tour continues through thematic areas related to raw materials such as cereals, legumes, coffee and chocolate, where there are also small urban gardens and fresh produce stalls.

In addition to visiting the Expo grounds, on this same route we suggest strolling through the Porta Nuova area, next to the Garibaldi train station, emblematic in terms of sustainable and innovative solutions in the field of architecture and gardening. In this urban regeneration area, around this new green space, different uses coexist such as public companies, offices, housing and museums.

In this location, a temporary installation was created in February, a 5-hectare wheat field made by artist Agnes Denes to reflect on issues such as ecology, climate change and the future of the planet. Installation similar to the one held in New York for the first time in 1982. As soon as the exhibition ends, in this same area, a new urban park will be built; designed by the Inside Outside studio, it will have the collaboration of Piet Oudolf, renowned expert in perennials and ornamental grasses.

Also, on the landscaped roof of the underground parking lot, which creates the transition between the large skyscrapers and the residential area, we find ornamental grasses such as _[Panicum virgatum](http://www.salagraupera.com/es/cataleg/graminies/item/panicum-virgatum-5)_, various varieties of _[Miscanthus](http://www.salagraupera.com/es/cataleg/graminies/category/miscanthus-poaceae-3)_ or _[Stipa tenuissima](http://www.salagraupera.com/es/cataleg/graminies/item/stipa-tenuissima-2)_, used to mark paths and rest areas.

Both at the Expo and in urban improvement projects, grasses, whether edible or ornamental, are the great protagonists of this event.
