This week we continue with the Garden Competition that took place in Lleida last month, during the APEVC Congress. And of which in the previous post we showed you the winning garden . Thus, below we present the other three gardens that participated in the competition:
Humanized Landscape
This garden, created by the winning team from the previous edition of this competition, and of exemplary workmanship, dealt with the relationship between man and nature. Specifically, it expressed the human capacity to transform nature and generate powerful impacts on its natural dynamics. On the other hand, as a positive aspect, it emphasized nature's ability to recover from these aggressions and return to an acceptable natural balance. Regarding vegetation, this was the garden with the greatest presence and variety of plants, and where this element was worked with greatest intensity. Among the species present we highlight [Leucadendron "Safari Goldstrike"](http://www.salagraupera.com/es/cataleg/general/item/leucadendron-safari-goldstrike-3) and Carex buchananni for the character they imprinted on the proposal.
We're Here!
In this proposal, the central element was an elaborate reproduction of La Seu de Lleida, made with metal and balls of different colors and elevated on a small mound of earth. It was accompanied by masses of shrubs that represented the spontaneous flora of the area. This garden created by a special work center of the city, was dominated by two species Adenanthus sericeus and [Syzygium paniculatum "Teenie Genie"](http://www.salagraupera.com/es/cataleg/general/item/syzygium-paniculatum-teenie-genie-2). As a curiosity, mention that from the place where the competition was held, there was a very similar view of La Seu to that represented in this garden.
The Green Box
This intervention arose as a response to a question that its authors asked themselves, what is a garden? To which they themselves responded, it is a space where there is no fifth wall. An answer that is a nod to the medieval concept of enclosed garden, the "hortus conclusus". So, what this team formed by two students from the Barcelona School of Agriculture developed was a green box, as its motto indicates. The space was closed by a green curtain and you had to go inside to discover its interior. Among the vegetation present in this proposal, we highlight the surface formed by [Zoysia tenuifolia](http://www.salagraupera.com/es/cataleg/graminies/item/zoysia-tenuifolia-2) sod, which despite the season, was in very good condition, as this species in temperate climate zones does not enter vegetative rest during winter.
